In addition to keeping the herbs in order, we would like to find knowledgeable and friendly people who could show visitors around. Training with respect to the garden layout and content would be provided and an overview given of where the herbs are and what they do.
Volunteers will be reimbursed for travelling expenses and they will also have the chance to join one or two courses of their choice, free of charge.
Gardening - to work alongside members of the current gardening team and to undertake various weeding tasks under supervision. Tools are provided and there are opportunities to learn more about the plants and herbs from experienced herbalists associated with the garden.
Visitors - to welcome visitors to the garden, to show them around if requested and provide information about the plants (prior training will be given in advance), to respond to their questions and assist with purchases from the Physic Hut (creams, oils, tinctures, paintings, cards etc).
Groups - assisting with booked group visits to the garden including welcoming them, helping with parking arrangements, leading them to the garden entrance, providing a guided tour of the plants and different areas of the garden (prior training will be given), assisting with purchases from the Physic Hut.
